First profesional training seminar for Best environmental practices in golf courses

The project of Best Environmental Practices in Golf Courses officially commenced Friday November 14th with the completion of the first professional training seminar pertaining to the subject of “Biorational Products in Golf courses”. The seminar achieved an exceptional attendance of 25 out of the 30 invited guests, representing 15 golf courses in the zones of Cancun, the Mayan Riviera, Campeche and Merida. These courses include: Cancun Golf Pok ta Pok, El Camaleón Mayakoba, El Manglar Riviera Maya, Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort, Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club, Riviera Cancun, Moon Spa & Golf Club, Playacar Spa & Golf Club, Playa Mujeres Golf Club, Cancun Country Club, Yucatan Country Club, Punta Maroma, and  Grand Coral.

This event was the first in a series of professional training seminars where the most advanced sustainable technologies and methods are presented to the golf courses’ directors so they may efficiently apply them in their course’s maintenance program. The seminar consisted of presentations from the companies SQM, CYR, TNI and Syngenta. These presentations dealt with: Course’s Nutrition and Irrigation, Integrated Plague Management and Diseases, Chemical Plague Control, and Biological Plague Control.
The event’s audience consisted of superintendents and maintenance directors of the above-mentioned courses, as well as the presence of the Vice-president and General Director of the Mexican Caribbean Golf course Association Akira Tominaga and Maru Saavedra. The event also included the presence of Javier Galindo (The Travel Foundation), Aurelio Ahumada (Fundacion Eco Red), Fernando Calderon (ONCA) and personnel from the companies of SQM, CYR, TNI and Syngenta.



The event received very good reviews from the participants who expressed their admiration of the excellent content, purpose, and organization presented in the seminary, and openly commented about their excitement in participating in the Best Environmental Practices project.
